Inaugural Meeting of the Kilfinan Community Council held in Kames Village Hall on Thursday 6^th February 2025

Attending: Melissa Stewart, Democratic Services Manager, Argyll & Bute Council

1. Melissa Stewart, on behalf of the Returning Officer, welcomed all to the meeting and introductions were made.
2. An apology for absence was received from Robin Webster.
3. There were no declarations of interest.
4. It was agreed to appoint Ed Pybus as Convener of the Community Council.
5. It was agreed to appoint Nicola Sowerby Greenall as Vice Convener.
6. It was agreed to appoint Catriona Renfrew as Secretary.
7. It was agreed to appoint Victoria Wince as Treasurer.
8. It was agreed that appointments of specialist administrators would be considered at a future meeting.
9. The community council considered and adopted the Model Constitution.
10. The community council considered and adopted the Model Standing Orders, noting that they will discuss future meetings with the community prior to making any decisions on a meeting pattern.
11. The community council considered and noted the Best Practice Agreement.
12. Melissa Stewart highlighted a range of governance issues including timescales for issue of agenda and minutes; the co-option process; forming committees; information on complaints processes; Data Protection and training opportunities. Melissa also brought to the attention some of the recent consultations which the council were running and the information being sought on the PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) switch off.
13. The date of the next meeting will be on Monday 24 February 2025 at 3pm within Kames Village Hall.
